Korean Cooking Class

Today after language class we had a Korean cooking class where we prepared and ate Bibimbap. It was a lot of fun and a very tasty treat after a grueling class! Apparently the Koreans have two totally different number systems. As example we have over the last 6 weeks been taught that the Korean number for 2 is "OI" Pronounced "E". Today it's now called both "E" as well as "DEW" (두).
Two totally different number systems to learn. Yeah - it's confusing as all get out!

So needless to say some fun in the "kitchen" was really appreciated. The have a red paste that they love which is made from a fiery red long pepper that is a real scorcher. I'll have to bring a tub of it back for my sons to try out.

We spent this past Sunday at Gyeong Ju which is a famous world heritage site, with an amazing temple and much more. The silk worm larvae is not as tasty as the Korean culture teacher led me to believe, but Gyeong Ju was amazing. Once you get away from the temple area there is a huge metro area with an amusement park, museums including one dedicated to "Sex" (which kind of surprised me)., and a lot more for the adventurer to enjoy. I will post some images from the cooking class as well as the trip to Gyeong Ju for you to enjoy.

Stay well!
