Had my first meal here at the campus. Cold seaweed soup (don't recommend it) Bim bap something. White rice, tuna, seaweed and the hottest red pepper paste in existence I believe. (tuna and rice was good) some strange egg thing that is served cold - kind of cooked and very salty (passed on it) and a sliced yellow pickled radish that was great. Kim chi which is a HOT cabbage dish. I'm not a spice person. They use stainless steel for most of the eating bowls etc. Drinking glasses too.Washed it down with the Korean version of a can of Pepsi. 250ml (kind of a baby can) Walked to the store and got a chocolate muffin and a quart of milk for dinner. They don't keep things as cold as we in the US do. They also don't use ice most of the time so your drinks are kind of "cool" but not cold. That will take some getting used to.
Did meet the director of International student affairs and he seems very nice, professional and anxious to make this a great experience!
Unpacked and ready for a much needed shower.
And speaking of showers check out this rather "unique" one!
Yep that's the toilet in the bottom right of the pic. The trick seems to be to straddle the toilet while showering and not get the toilet paper wet or shoot water into the light fixture above the sink.
Until next time! Have fun - I will be!
Dinner looks great to me (if a little institutional)! Yes, beware the kim chi if you aren't into spicy!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are gonna have some serious adjusting to do Bro!
ReplyDeleteAll things considered though, it looks pretty cool! I especially like the Nikon cleaning station there in the lower right picture. ;)
Be well and blessed my Brother! You are in my prayers daily and my thoughts often.
