Well thanks to the rather unique bus schedule here in South Korea we did not make it to the temple that we set out for. Instead we went in the opposite direction. But we still had a nice day in and around Deagu city itself. Got to experience the subway system which was very efficient and inexpensive. Surprisingly clean as well. Both the bus as well as the subway was $1.10 USD each way. Even not knowing where we were, we knew it was time to get off the bus when we saw the "Golden Arches"! Korean McDonalds, wonderful food and nice people and best of all it was not noodles or rice!
Strolling around Deagu was an experience itself. The city is huge and has just about anything imaginable. We actually found a full city long block of nothing but cell phone stores down both sides. South Korea is said to be the first county to have had more cell phones than land lines. After seeing that many cell phone shops side by side I can believe it!
A close second for the number of shops of the same type would be a tie between lingerie shops and coffee shops. Tons of both on every street. The shoe style here for women is unbelievable. Spiked heals on just about any shoe you could want. Even many of the tennis shoe style shoes have very large wedge heals on them.
I'm posting a number of images from the days journey. Hope you enjoy. Oh = By the way, check out the bottles of honey. Honey is VERY expensive here, as well as having a totally different taste and viscosity than the US type. But I have never seen a bottle of honey selling for $125,000 won! ($125.00 USD) WOW!
Until next time keep smiling!

$3,700 for a big mac? Oh that's WON not dollars - OK! |

Street vendor with vegetables. |
|
Lots of fast moving traffic |

This is a big department store - kind of like a Wal-Mart. These ladies beat the heck out the door greeters at my Wal-Mart! Only problem is as they dance to the music that's blaring, they will grab you by the arm and try to drag you into the store as you walk by. |

Pizza Hut in Daegu and it's only $24,000 for pizza, pasta and salad! Drinks extra! |
|
Do I really have to say it? They also have take out! |
|
The night scene about 9PM. BUSY! |
|
Spiked heals on just about every type of shoe you can think of. Most younger Korean women tend to wear this style and mini skirts with black or gray leggings. |
|
I'd swear I've seen pretty much that Logo somewhere! |
|
Fairly typical outfit for the younger woman/college student. |
| | | Mini Skirt, with a high neck line. Lots of ruffles!
